How to buy your Forton home

The homes at Hollins Green will be available for outright purchase but also through the   scheme. Several of the 2-bed and 3-bed homes at Hollins Green will be available to purchase via Shared Ownership, which offers you the chance to buy a share of your home between 25% and 75% of the total value. You would then pay rent on the remaining share.

The advantage of Shared Ownership is that you’d need a smaller mortgage and deposit, which can make homes more affordable and can help you get on the property ladder quicker instead of having to save up for longer.

For example, if you were buying a £250,000 home, you might need a deposit of just £3,125, which would be 5% of your 25% share of that home. This makes it ideal for first-time buyers and those who are looking to get back on the ladder.
