At Laurus Homes, we do more than just build homes. We also strive to help create neighbourhoods and act as a catalyst for regeneration to benefit the immediate community and wider society. That’s why we always put people first with a community-focused and profit-for-purpose approach to every project we deliver.
We think everyone deserves a special place to live, so we design homes for all. From stylish, urban apartments for young professionals to larger, family-sized homes in semi-rural settings, we offer a range of purchase options including Shared Ownership and Help to Buy.
We believe that there should be a home for everyone.
Tackling poverty, ending isolation and improving the lives of local people. As part of The L&Q Group, this is just part of our big commitment to using any profit we make for social good. We set aside £2 million pounds each year through s Social Investment Fund to invest in projects led by the members of the community for the benefit of their community. Here are some of the achievement for 2018/19:
In March 2019 Kal Gill-Faci was awarded a micro-grant of £496 for her project ‘Plot 7F’.
Plot 7F is a plot located in Humphrey Park Allotments, Stretford where all the fresh fruit and vegetables are grown are donated to local food banks and homeless charities.
Kal was successful in securing a grant for £496 from L&Q’s Social Investment Fund, which went towards purchasing all the necessary tools and materials needed to grow a wide variety of fruit and vegetables as organically as possible. We’re told that the typical fruit and veg that is being grown is potatoes, cauliflower, onions, kale, and grapes, plus many more!
Kal says “The work I am doing to help the homeless and those experiencing food poverty with my children and great-nephew is extremely rewarding and it is our mission to continue this work with the support of members at the Allotment in Stretford for years to come.
